REUNION DURING WEEK-END
More Than 350 To Attend
The second national reunion of t'he 4th and 6th Reserve Mechanical Transport Companies in Christchurch during the week-end is expected to be attended by more than 350 former servicemen. It will begin tomorrow and end on Monday.
Men and their wives will gather at the Winter Garden for a conversazione at 2.30 p.m. tomorrow. In the evening a dinner will be held at the Winter Garden, at which the speaker will be the Mayor (Mr G. Manning). A smoke concert will be held afterwards. Wives will be entertained at a picture evening At 930 a.m. on Sunday' a wreath will be laid at the War Memorial in the Cathedral Grounds. The Dean •rf Christchurch (the Very Rev. W. A. Pyatt) will ifficiate at the ceremony After the church parade special buses will take the men and their wives for an yuting to Riccarton racecourse.
Functions are to be arranged on Monday, but these will depend on the number of visitors remaining in the city.
Fat On Fire.— Fire engines from the Sydenham and Sockburn stations attended a small fire in a pan of fat tn the chip department of T. H. Green, Ltd., Princess street. Addington, at 4.30 p.m. yesterday.
