“Not Welcome In Hotels”
(N.Z. Press Association) MASTERTON. May 29. Big groups of women were not welcomed as hotel guests because they were there tor accommodation and not liquor, Mrs T. M. Watson, the Dominion president of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers, told more than 200 delegates at a one-day. inter-provincial conference in Masterton today. She was discussing the Dominion conference to be held in Wellington in July. Mrs Watson smiled as she said that hoteliers would probably extend a much warmer welcome to racegoers, who spent their money more freely. [A three-day race meeting is to be held at Trentham during July. About 1100 W.D.F.F. delegates are expected to attend the Dominion conference then.]
