There were four outright wins among the results of county cricket matches which ended yesterday:
At Stroud.—Gloucestershire 336 for eight declared (C. Milton 131, J. Mortimore 76; J. Savage five for 105) and 4 for none beat Leicestershire 178 and 160 (A. Brown five for 57) by 10 wickets. Gloucestershire 10 points.
At Gravesend.—Kent 133 and 22 for two, Warwickshire 332 for six declared. Match abandoned as draw because of rain. Warwickshire two points. »At Nottingham.—Sussex 179 and 298 for seven declared (J. Parks 65. L. Lanham 84 not out) beat Nottinghamshire 193 (J. Bolus 81: D. Bates five for 48) and 176 (Bolus 83; R. Bell eight for 54). by 108 runs. Sussex 10 points. At Leeds.—Hampshire 260 and 203 for two declared (C. Ingleby-Mackenzie 60) beat Yorkshire 189 (J. Hampshire 50. P. Sharpe 70; P. Sainsbury seven for 77) and 144 (D. Padgett 48; D. White four for 33) by 130 runs. Hampshire 10 points. At Romford.—Essex 326 for six declared (M. Bear 84, T. Bailey 96. K. Fletcher 94) beat Northamptonshire 132 and 181 (J. Laker foiir for 57) by an innings and 13 runs. Essex 10 points. At Lord’s.—Worcestershire 79 and 130 for three drew with Middlesex 380 for five declared. Middlesex two points.
At Swansea.—Glamorgan 300 for six declared and 248 for six declared (W. Slade 41 not out) drew with Derbyshire 233 (C. Lee 104; J. Pressdee six for 58) and 219 for nine (W. Oates 99. H. Johnson 58; I. L. Jones four for 50). Glamorgan two points.
