Skull Found
A Maori skull, believed to have belonged to a victim of cannibalism, was found by a man digging a post hole in Rotorua. The skull was found 18 inches below the surface by a sharemilker, Mr E. Koopal. in Pukehang: road, when his spade struck a solid object. The skull is believed to be hundreds erf years old. The finding nearby of a small stone, which bears firescorch marks, has led to the belief that the skull belonged to a person consumed at a tribal feast.—(P.A.)
