Naming The Coinage
Sir—l would support the suggestion <rf Mr P. N. O'Reilly for “Zeal” as a suitable name for the unit of the coming new coinage. It is better than “Zollar” I have suggested: only one syllable and utilises part of the name of our country. The crossed Z I suggested as the new currency sign seems to have an appeal to, others interested to write you on the matter and would fit the term “Zeal.” “The Press” might do a service in sorting out the suggestions already made and inviting others for submission to the authority finally concerned in naming the coinage Canterbury could well provide what is wanted. — Yours, etc., A. H. SHRUBSHALL. May 28. 1963.
