CANDIDATE FOR SELWYN
Labour Party’s Selection Mr F. E. Smith, aged 34, a company representative who lives in Ilalswell, has been chosen as the Labour Party candidate for Selwyn at the General Election. Mr Smith is married with a 10-month-old daughter. He is prominent in the Workers’ Educational Association. In recent years he has been secretary-treasurer and then president of the association’s debating club, and is also a member of the Forum Debating Club. He is a member of the Economic Society of Australia and New Zealand.
