Passenger Missing
(N.Z^^.-Reuttr—Copyright) LONDON, May 8 Detectives boarded the 29,814-ton liner, Iberia, last night, to investigate the disappearance of a man during the ship’s voyage from Australia. They went aboard as the vessel passed Gravesend, at the mouth of the Thames, on its way to Tilbury Docks, and took statements from several passengers. The missing passenger was Tenvo Peltonen, aged 31, a carpenter, who embarked at Adelaide. Peltonen was booked on tourist class-passage to Marseilles. His was on his way home to Finland. He disappeared after a fancy dress party two days out of Aden. Peltonent was a bachelor, who had been working in South Australia.
Vaccination.— An expedition headed by Sir Edmund Hillary has vaccinated 7000 Nepali villagers against smallpox.—Katmandu. May 8.
