“Support The Suffering”

Sir.—ln reply to “Given But Bitten,” every tin for the students’ collection (of more than 2000 issued) has a 1 number; and the name of every collector is recorded beside the number of his (or her) tin. Rarely is a tin opened or not returned. However, there is a capping disciplinary committee which does its best to follow up such cases. “Support the suffering” was our slogan, and this we surely did with a record collection of £5lOO for * ■ the Multiple Sclerosis Society. This result would 'seem” to suggest a considerable degree of honesty and fair play, would it not?— Yours, etc., PETER J. MARRIOTT, Publicity Officer, Capping Committee. May 9, 1963.
