NURSING OFFICER FOR ST. JOHN
Miss Kathleen Bland has been appointed District Nursing Officer of the St John Ambulance Brigade, an office which entails responsibility for the training of all divisional nursing officers in Canterbury and the West Coast Miss Bland, a tutor sistier at Burwood Hospital, was awarded the Royal Red Cross (second class) medal while nerving with the Queen Alexandra Royal Nursing C >rps in Malaya during the Communist terrorist fighting Before joining the staff at Burwood Hospital, she was matron of the Burnham Military Camp Hospital for two years
Annual Dinner.—Members of the Christchurch branch of the Timaru Sacred Hear* Old Girls' Association held their annual dinner at Warners Hotel recently. Members attending were received by Mrs M. Butler, preswknt of the Association, and Mrs J Rodgers, secretary Guests included representatives of kindred associations.
