Mount Sugarloaf
Sir,—l read that the Heathcote County Council has agreed to supply power to the proposed television station on Mount Sugarloaf. Can we be assured that power lines above the Summit road will be run underground? Will the station or its access road be on the reserve given by Messrs Thomson and Jamieson? Are there any limitations in the terms of their bequest as to the use of the land?—Yours, etc., J. S. POLLARD.
May 5, 1963. [The county clerk of the Heathcote County Council (Mr W. H. Scrimgeour) said: “The power lines will be run underground from the point below the Summit road to the television station. In regard to the reserve, this is not owned or controlled by the Heathcote County Council, so I can make no comment on this question.’’]
