ESCAPERS REMANDED
10 Further Charges (NX Pre** Association) AUCKLAND, May 7. Ten further chargee, including unlawful possession of firearms and receiving a stolen shotgun, were admitted by two men who escaped from Wellington Prison on March 10 when they appeared in the Auckland Magistrate's Court today before Mr L G H Sinclair. SM They were before the Cour: for sentence on a charge of escaping The men Raymond Hopewell. aged 40, a workman, and Joseph William Coulter, aged 34. a tree feller from Canada, pleaded guilty to sis Joint charges of false pretences. two of receiving stolen goods one of possessing firearm* and one of being rogues and vagabonds in that they possessed house breaking implements Hopewell admitted a further charge of false pretences and theft and Coulter admitted unlawfully getting into a ear and receiving stolen goods The Magistrate remanded both men tn May 17 for a further report.
