FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT
Situation.—A deep depression south-east of Otago is moving away and a complex trough of low pressure is moving eastwards across New Zealand. Forecast:— Bdller and Westland.—South-westerlies soon becoming general, fresh in parts of Buller; cooler, with some showers, chiefly in Buller and North Westland. Outlook: occasional showers. Nelson.—Moderate to fresh northerlies turning southerlies, with colder temperatures and showers, periods, temperatures becoming cooler. Outlook: a few showers. Marlborough.—North-west winds, strong to gale force at first about the Sounds, otherwise fresh; scattered showers; a change about mid-day to fresh southerlies with colder temperatures and showers. Outlook: a few showers. Canterbury.—Southerlies prevailing, moderate inland, but fresh on parts of the coast; cloudy, with areas of rain; temperatures becoming cold, with some snow on the ranges.
