Mr V J. Mitchell, of the “Melbourne Herald” and formerly of Christchurch, has been appointed press and information officer for Tasman Empire Airways. He replaces Mr G F. Gair, who is now personal assistant to the general manager (Mr F. A Reeves) —(P.A.) The names of Messrs J. H Skinner and G W. Tench were omitted from the list of vice-presidents elected by the Christchurch sub-centre of the St John Ambulance Association at its annual meeting. Mr M. L. Newman was welcomed as a new member of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce council at its monthly meeting last night.
