AUCKLAND. April 25. Students at the Ardmore Teachers’ College raised £2OO in 15 minutes to enable a Canadian student at the college to fly home. Mr D Tunstall will leave from Whenuapai for Canada tomorrow.
He learned on Sunday that his father had died suddenly. His mother is sick and although he wished to see her and also arrange the family’s affairs he had enough money to fly home but not to get back to New Zealand. The Ardmore student executive learned of this and on Tuesday each residential hall at the college held a meeting to collect donations.
The £2OO will enable him to return to New Zealand.
