Natural Gas At Petone
(N.Z Press Association) WELLINGTON. April 25 Natural gas of doubtful commercial value—exists at Petone and tests showed it to be 85 per cent, methane, compared with the 50 per cent, methane found in the Kapuni natural gas. Staff of the Hutt Valley underground water authority working for geological and hydrological information sank a bore to a depth of 1020 ft in the Gear Meat Company yards at Petone and found evidence of gas from a depth of 500 ft.
