TORNADOES IN U.S.

Tornadoes ripped through at least 13 east central Illinois towns and two Indiana cities last night, tearing down power lines, and blowing a man about 350 yards from his house, the United Press International reported. Several persons were reported trapped in the wreckage of a home which was struck by a twister in the north-east section of Indianapolis. Police said there were “quite a few injured” in the area and a number were taken to hospitals. In Illinois, at least 17 persons were injured, but there were no reports of fatalities. Fletcher Correll, aged 64. a bachelor farmer, was found in a field about 350 yards from his demolished farm home.
