MT. PLEASANT SEWERAGE
Septic Tanks Overloaded
Because of the present resistance to the proposed oxidation pond for Mount Pleasant sewage disposal, the board should look carefully at any new subdivision in the Mount Pleasant area, a special committee recommended to the board. Since the works committee had reported on investigations being made Into the possible construction of a temporary oxidation pond to provide a more adequate degree of treatment in the Mount Plea-sant-St. Andrews Hill areas there had been much opposition from residents and others in the newspapers, the committee said.
The present septic tanks were heavily overloaded, and the board should bear this in mind when considering any proposals which would increase the load.
