MOLESTATION OF GIRLS
Improper Dressing Blamed Special efforts will be made by the Catholic Women’s League of the Diocese of Christchurch to help parents alert and educate their children on the dangers from molestation. The league will also investigate ways of assisting parents to exercise a more enlightened supervision of teen-age children. This was decided at the league's conference yesterday. when several delegates partly blamed improper dressing tor molestation. Giris in tight pants and brief swimsuits—worn on the streets in seaside towns—did not help matters. The need for more feminine clothes should be emphasised, they said.
Mannequin parades showing smart, more modest clothes were suggested as a medium to counteract seductive dressing.
