SARAWAK ALLIANCE
Withdrawal Of Party (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) KUCHING, April 16. The chairman of the Party Negara of Sarawak, Datu Bandar, today announced the withdrawal of his party from the Sarawak Alliance. Giving reasons for the withdrawal, Datu Bandar said the party found it vital to their efforts to struggle against the Sarawak United People’s Party in the forthcoming General Election, and it was therefore necessary to withdraw from the Sarawak Alliance. The chairman added that it was the primary policy of the Party Negara to work for the Sarawak people’s benefit, and the party would maintain close association with Alliance members. The Sarawak Alliance comprising five pro-Malaysia parties, was formed last October. General elections will be held in Sarawak from April to June. The long period is made necessary by tee nature of the terrain.
Life Membership.—-Dr. and Mrs O. H. Frankel were elected life members of the Wsingheime Community Centre at a special general meeting of the centre last evening.
