Navy Dockyard Machine Shop
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. April 17 The Cabinet works committee today approved the building of a combined machine shop and tool room at the Devonport naval dockyard at an estimated cost of £300.000 The Acting Minister of Defence (Mr Seath) said the building would contain 40,000 square feet and would be a major step in the programme to develop the dockyard and to provide modern facilities for the maintenance of naval vessels and their equipment
