Clubs £ 3 /4m Profit

SYDNEY. April 16. Two Sydney sporting clubs shawed * combined gross trading profit of £719,79® for the financial year ended December 31, 1962, according to figures released today. They are the New South Wales League’s Club and the Eastern Suburbs League’s Club, Ltd. The New South Wales League's Club showed a gross profit of £405.255 before wages, salaries, rates and other charges of £293,267.
The club deducted £17441 for charitable grants, £lO.OOB for school football grant, made a transfer of £50,080 to reserve far equipment re-
placement, £50,000 to building reserve, and £30.000 to general reserve before showing a net surplus for the year of £31319. The Eastern Suburbs League’* Club. Ltd., disclosed Its gross profit from bar trading and other income at £314.535. The club for three and a half months ha 1961 showed a profit of £98,982. After expenditure of £151,769, net surplus for the year was £183,766. Included in expenditure
was poker nschine licence fees of £U,OS«. Grants to the district football (Bagby League) chib amounted to £15341.
