Bacon Workers’ Award
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 16. Bacon workers in Wellington have received increases of 10s a week in an award issued by the Arbitration Court after a conciliation council agreement. Those on hourly rates receive 3d ‘an hour more. The increases bring the wages of head curers and first smallgoods men to £l6 Is a week. Female workers and youths under 19 receive 8s 4d more a week.
An unqualified preference clause has been inserted in the award.
