Investigation Into Escapes
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 16. An investigation into the escapes last night from Paparua Prison was announced today by the Minister of Justice (Mr Hanan).
The investigation, to be made by Mr E. S. J. Crutchley, S.M.. will begin this week.
Mr Hanan said he was distressed to learn of the injuries suffered by the prison officer. Mr S. F. Rodgers, and he hoped he would have a speedy recovery.
Rocking For Dogs.— Rock 'n roll sessions by teen-agers at the Red Lion pub in Aylsham, Norfolk, have raised more than £2O to provide guide dogs for the blind, the “Daily Mail” reported.— London, April 16.
