SKIDDED ON BRIDGE
Motor-Cyclists In hired Two motor-cyclists with pillion passengers skidded on the rails of the road-rail bridge over .the Ure river, near Ward, within half an hour of each other yesterday morning The first motor-cyclist. Edward George Cotton, of Victoria street, Rangiora, suffered head injuries and was taken by a passing motorist to the Kaikoura Hospital where he was admitted His passenger Miss Teresa Hackwell, of Bordesley street. Christchurch, was not injured Within half an hou'r, at the same spot on the bridge, a motor-cycle ridden by William Geoffrey Welsh. of Bassett street, Burwood, also skidded on the rails Both Mr Welsh and his passenger. Barrie Robin Woodfield, of Barnard street, Dallington, were taken to Kaikoura Hospital by a motorist. They were admitted, and their condition last night was reported to be satisfactory Police said that all four persons in the accidents were wearing safety helmets.
