Motor Racing Shelley Pushes Car Home
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) SYDNEY. April 15. The New Zealand racing driver. Tony Shelley, pushed his car across the line to finish second in the “Bathurst 100" today. The engine of his Cooper-Climax failed close to the line In the last lap. He pushed it across—followed by Charley Smith (Elfin I, who "gunned” his engine in a desperate attempt to beat the struggling Shelley. The Victorian and former national champion. Lex Davidson, won the race, driving a Cooper. Davidson clocked 65 min 9sec.
