Girl Dies Of Injuries
A girl who suffered serious injuries when a car hit a pole in Moorhouse avenue, near Colombo street, about 12.30 a.m. yesterday, died in in the Christchurch Hospital early last evening. She was: Angela Carol Adcock, aged 17. a shorthand-typist, the daughter of Mr and Mrs D. O. Adcock, of 58 Dallington terrace.
Miss Adcock suffered broken hips and arm and leg injuries and shock.
Corine Turner, aged 16. of 71 Ham road, suffered head injuries and was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital. Her condition was reported last evening as fairly comfortable
Maxwell Willby. aged 19. of 9 Pitcairn crescent, suffered minor injuries and shock. The driver, Noel Victor Leeming. aged 22. of 89 Jerrold street, suffered arm injuries The two men in the car were treated at the Christchurch Hospital
One of the girl passengers was thrown for some distance by the force of the impact. The left front side of the car was wrecked. The accident occurred about 100 yards to the west of Colombo street The car was travelling west at the time when it hit one ol the iron poles in the middle of the avenue. Membe r of the motor accident inquiry branch at the Central Police Station want to interview any persons who saw the accident
