Caulfield Win By Future

The New Zealand-bred gelding, Future, won the Orrong Two-year-old Handicap at Caulfield impressively yesterday and looks a top prospect for the Melbourne spring racing. Future, the 7/4 favourite, trounced the opposition on a rain-soaked track. The 50/1 chance. Prince Pirate, beat Moongay in a photo for second. Future has raced only six times, and this was his second win in succession. He beat Fusele, also ait Caulfield, on March 9. Future belongs to Lord’s owner, Mr W. R. Kemball, and is by Lord’s sire, Targui. He cost 2000gns as a yearling. The trainer, K. Hilton, said that Future may run at Flemington during Easter. If he does well then, be will be given a spell before the more important three-year-old races of the spring.
