MELBOURNE TRADE FAIR

NX Exhibits Rated Best

(NX. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Mar. 29 Independent opinion made known to him had rated the New Zealand court the best among the exhibits of 50 nations at the recent Melbourne Trade Fair. the Minister of Overseas Trade (Mr Marshall) said at the Dominion council of the National Party in Wellington today Mr Marshall was reviewing Government action in helping to promote the trade drive The Minister said that the decision not to enter an exhibit for the forthcoming Tokyo Trade Fair had been taken advisedly, it being considered that the products New Zealand marketed in Japan did not lend themselves so effectively to presentation in this way. “We decided to concentrate on the Sydney and Melbourne fairs, which we felt we could use to greater advantage.” Mr Marshall said “There are a great many such fairs around the world each year, and we just have to be selective." Mr Marshall described trade developments with Japan as “exciting," especially where forest products were concerned.
