SWIMMING Girl Breaks Three Records, Ties Two
Miss S. A. Nicholson, who holds four New Zealand women’s titles and gained the most points over-all at the national championships, showed great form at the Christchurch Technical High School’s girls’ swimming sports.
She broke the existing records in the senior 55 yards freestyle, the senior 33 1-3 yards freestyle and the senior 3“ 1-3 yards butterfly, and equalled the records, in the senior 33 1-3 yards backstroke and the long plunge. Her time for the 55 yards freestyle was a very creditable 30.7 sec. Masses Nicholson and S. Jones tied for the senior championship with 30 points each. Third place went to Diane Tuuta (10 points).
