More Beef Pitched (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Mar. 29. Trading at Smithfield this week was again dominated by supplies of beef which tended to exceed the demand, according to the market information service of the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board. Increased supplies' of Homekilled and Argentine chilled beef kept the beef market weak. Prices for New Zealand lamb were steady, however, with a moderate inquiry. There were reduced supplies of Home-killed lamb. Light supplies of New Zealand mutton were pitched and ewe mutton prices were firmer Hoggets fetched 14d to 16d per lb, wethers UJd to 1416 d, and ewes lOd to 13d.
