NATURALISATION CEREMONY
Fifty Take Oath Fifty persons from eight countries took the oath of allegiance before toe Mayor (Mr G. Manning) to become naturalised New Zealanders at a ceremony last evening. In his speech of welcome toe Mayor said that the most urgent need was to learn the Engl!* language. "To do this, I suggert that you become members, according to your aptitudes and interests, of some voluntary organisation connected with sport, social service, religion, art, education, or trade,” he said. This would enable them to enlarge their friendships Play a pert IB community life, and express their own individual ideas and internets.
