Sportsman’s Notebook University Should Take Tennis Title

University has a good chance of winning the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association’s senior men’s competition on the final day at Wilding Park on Saturday. Harneiss, B. Baxter. B. Crofts, and P. Boatwood. Cashmere and Elmwood will play off in the losers’ match and in the B section ‘he winners, Woolston and United, and the losers, North Linwood and Barrington, will □lay. the competition for the fifth season in succession. It is unbeaten with 7j points from seven wins and a tie. The next team is Fendaiton, which has 41 points and will still be two points behind if it beats the bottom team, Shirley, on Saturday. * * • Marching Tour Canterbury’s most successful senior marching team in recent yeses, Philips Hi Z, will leave for a3} weeks' tour of Australia today.
