DROP IN BUS REVENUE
Deficiency Above Estimate The passenger revenue of the Christchurch Transport Board in the four weeks to February 24 dropped by £llOO on the corresponding period last year, and the operating expenses rose by £1512. Standing charges brought the deficiency for the four weeks to £13,005, an increase of £2597. The £163,034 deficiency for the financial year so far was £10,466 greater than at the same time a year ago, and approximately £lO,OOO more than estimated. "This was anticipated when the board recently reviewed its fare structure,” said Mr E. J. Bradshaw, chairman of the finance committee, when the figures were presented by the general manager (Mr J. F. Fardellt.
