EVICTION SOUGHT
‘Filthy’ House’s Tenants (N.Z. Press Association) MJCKSLAND, March 27. The Manukau County Council has decided to ask the State Advances Corporaitdon to evict the tenants of a house because of the unhygienic conditions in it. The Health Inspector (Mr E. L. G. Clist) said there were 17 persons living n the threebedroocned house, which was in a generally filthy condition.. The kitchen cupboards, he said, were in “an indescribable state of filth and attracting both vermin and flies. “Several of the children . . . were observed to be suffering from open sores. . . ” Mir L. L. Elsmore said he thought he would never see these conditions existing in a New Zealand home.
