Ripa Third At Rosehill (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, March 27. The New Zealand-bred Ripa scored a third in the £lO,OOO six furlongs Golden Slipper Stakes for two-year-olds at Rosehill today. The South Australian colt Pago Pago, a 2/1 favourite in Australia’s richest race for two-year-olds, came home first, followed by Rosie Sun. Pago Pago made a onehorse race of it in- the straight. He was easing when he crossed the line. The colt is not to be run again this autumn, but will be reserved for the spring classics. The glamour Sydney galloper, Time and Tide, ridden by G. Moore, went to the front from the barrier, but although Moore forced him to a desperate effort, he was well and truly beaten. Rosie Sun ran a game race. The Victorian-owned Ripa also put up a splendid performance to finish third in a thrilling contest against Time and Tide. Ripa was not suited by the heavy track at Rosehill today. Pago Pago now has a record of nine wins and a third from 10 starts, and he has won about £16,715 in stake money.

Tancred Cup Maidenhead is likely to put in a strong challenge against the New Zealand stayer, Stipulate, and the New Zea-land-bred The Dip, for favouritism in next month’s £lO,OOO Sydney Cup, after an easy win in the Tancred Cup today.

Maidenhead was tailed off early, and was still 20 lengths last with half a mile to go. She swamped the opposition u the straight, and won running away. Maidenhead has only seven stone in the Sydney Cup, and cannot be penalised for today’s win. Results:—

Doncaster Mount For Coles (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, March 27. The former New Zealand jockey, L. G. Coles, today accepted the mount on Prince Regoli in the £BOOO Doncaster Handicap (Im) at Randwick on April 13. Prince Regoli, equal favourite with Kilchery for toe Doncaster, will run in toe Malayan Cup (7f) on April 6, but Coles has delayed a decision about toe cup until Monday. Prince Regoli has 8-4 in toe Doncaster and toe Malayan Cup. This gives Coles a top mount in toe AJ.C. Easter double at Randwick. He will ride Welkin Prince in toe Sydney Cup (2m) on April Doubles bookmakers have promoted Prince Regoli to equal favouritism which indicans that his second to Time and Tide was a good run. Coles is having a successful season. He won the Oekleigh Plate on Kilshery and the Australian Cup op Welkin Prince. Coles has ridden eight winner* in Melbourne this season. His mounts have awn £45,140 in prize-money. '
