Dranoted to toe senior aide for the second half of the season, R T. Ryder has been taking cheep wickets for East Christ-chureh-Sbxriey quite consistently. A tall, young fast-medium bowler, Ryder on Saturday brought his senior tally to 12 wickets, for only IS runs.

K. Thomsen had only four scoring strokes, two sixes, a four and a single, in his innings of 17 against West Ohristchurch-Univor-eity. His second six, off A. C. Timpson, went over •the square-leg boundary. Trying to repeat the stroke next tall, Thomson was caught at mid-wicket. With his accurate spinners, Timpson took the valuable wickets of Thomson, I. R. Hartland, D. L. Gallop and A F. Rapiey, all Canterbury representatives.
