SCHOOLBOY HAS FAST MILE
4min 19sec Sets New Record (tiZ. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 26. The fastest mile ever run in Auckland by a schoolboy —4m in 19sec—was recorded by C. Harvey, the Auckland secondary schools’ champion, in the Boman Catholic schools’ championships. Running for St. Paul’s College, Harvey cut 10.5 sec off the championship record. Another fine performance was the long jump ot 21ft Oiin by B. J. Catmull, which added Ift "Jin to the previous record.
