Mateland Dead

AUCKLAND, March 26. New Zealand’s top two-year-old racehorse, Mateland, died at Te Awamutu last night He developed a twisted bowel on Sunday and
failed to respond to veterinary treatment. Mateland had seven starts for four firsts and a second. His stake earnings were £3125. He was by the former ehampion galloper, Syntax, from the Landacre mare, Cleland.
