RAIN STOPS BOWLS
City Woman Two-Lifer (N.Z. Press Association) WHANGAREI. March 19. Rain flooded greens and stopped play in the New Zealand women’s singles tournament at Whangarei today. The fourth round had just started when the rain came. At that stage the survivors from an entry of 20 were:— Two-lifers: Mrs L. McKenzie (Christchurch), Mrs V. Neil (South Auckland - Thames Valley). Mrs E. Bardell (East Coast). One-lifers: Mrs E. Kennedy (Marlborough), Mrs E. Hadfield (Manawatu), Mrs R. Steven (Wellington), Mrs M. Griffiths (Southland), Mrs N. Rankin (Auckland), Mrs M. Spragg (Taranaki), and Mrs E. Wilkie (Waikato). The interruption now makes it certain that (he tournament will run to Thursday.
