Thais Want Steel Plant

Thailand has approached the Soviet Union for the establishment of a steel plant in the country, the “Bangkok World" reported yesterday. Quoting the Foreign Minister (Mr Thanat Khoman) the paper said that the Soviet Union is one of the countries to whom inquiries have been made to supply equip? ment and machinery for a steel plant. The undertaking will be a normal commercial transaction with no political implications, Mr Thanat was quoted as saying.
