R.S. Abel To Play In Napier
Th* Canterbury and South Island lock forward, R. S. Akel, will play kls Bagby to Sawie's day this winter. Abel has accepted a position with a Napier firm and intends to loin the AU Black ■anker; K. B. Tremata, as a member of the Najpier High School Old Boys’ team In the last three seasons Abel ha* keen a regular member of the Canterbury pack an* has played many fine games notably to the Ranfurly shield challenge match against Auckland last September. He was a member of the Waikato representative squad In 1959 an* to the seasons 19*6-41-62 appeared 34 time* tor Canterbury. He gained South Island selection this year.
Abel, aged 2*. played for Linwood during Ms period to Christchurch, and last season was captain of the club’s senior team.
