N.Z. Handicapper’s Visit To Yonkers
Mr R. C. Morton, of Christchurch, the chief handicapper to the New Zealand Trotting Conference, will attend the international pacing series at Yonkers Raceway, New York, in May. His visit, which will be sponsored by the raceway, was proposed by the president of the raceway (Mr M. Tanabaum) when he was in New Zealand recently.
Mr Morton will leave Christchurch on April 20 and anrive in New York in time to see the final race of the international trotting series on April 25. He will remain in New York for the pacing series on May 2, 9 and 16. While in America, Mr Morton will visit the headquarters of the United States Trotting Association in Columbus, Ohio. Mr Morton will stop in Britain and Australia on his way back to New Zealand He hopes to have discussions in Britain with Mr N. Simpson, formerly of Auckland, who is establishing a nig-' t trotting course there.
