Nelson Retains Hawke Cup

NELSON, Feb. 25. Nelson retained the Hawke Cup in their twentieth successive defence in five seasons when they beat Ashburton by an innings and 78 runs today in the last challenge of the season. Nelson scored 347 for eight wickets declared, in reply to Ashburton’s first innings total of 85 dismissed Ashburton a second time for 184. C. Robertson scored 63.
