NEW COLOURS PRESENTED
N.Z. Scottish Regiment (N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON N„ Feb. 24. The Governor-General (Sir Bernard Fergusson) presented new colours to the New Zealand Scottish Regiment at the Linton Military Camp on Saturday afternoon.
As Lieutenant Fergusson in 1937 he had received the Colours of the famous Scottish Black Watch Regiment from the Queen Mother. The Black Watch Regiment’s badges are incorporated on the new Cotours. “I would appeal to other young men in New Zealand to follow your example and to share in your comradeship,” Sir Bernard Fergusson told the parade. He read a message from th. Queen Mother, who is Cotonel-in-Ctiief of the Black Watch and its allied regiments:
. “It is with great pleasure that I send to the New Zealand Scottish Regiment my wannest greetings on the occasion of the presentation of new Colours. . . . May your new Colours remind you of your pact and inspire you for your future. ,c
