Faith Pinned On Juniors
A very promising junior team has been selected to represent Canterbury at the New Zealand water polo championships, to be held in Auckland on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. As a senior team will not be competing from Canterbury, officials have pinned all their faith on the colts side. Captain of the team is the very experienced player, L. Mclntosh (Beckenham). Although only 18 years old, he has been selected for the senior New Zealand training squad and is already in Auckland taking part in its activit.es. Mclntosh has represented Canterbury for four years in succession, twice as a junior and twice as a senior. The team is a particularly strong one and has a good chance of winning the national title. It consists of L. Mclntosh (captain, Becken-
ham), I. Gunithorp (Wharenui), G. Gotlieb (Beckenham), G. Williamson (Beckenham), B. Pierre (Fendalton). B. Sutherland (Fendalton)', B. Spear (St Albans) and W. Dunn (Wharenui). D. Cutting and R. Gaskell were not available.
Mr A. Tyne been named as manager.
