Neckline Is
“Very Chilly”
(Special Crspdt. N.ZJ’.A.) LONDON, February 22.
Not one woman among the 1000 who attended a fashion show at Leeds would take “the plunge”—a plunge-to-the-waist, jewel-studded dress of turquoise satin, worth SOgns. It was offered to them free, reported the “Yorkshire Post,” but when it was announced as “a gift to any woman who will wear it within a month at any Leeds function, as it is and without modification,” the women laughed, shrieked, or sat stunned.
The plunge was shown by a blonde model No-one came forward to claim it. The model said afterwards: “Very few women would have the courage to wear it. I must say I wouldn’t go out in it myself, unless It was to an ultra-smart function with an escort who knew me very well. And, if they did, their husbands would be very embarrassed. Anyway, it’s very chilly.”
