RACING PROSPECTS FOR DUNEDIN

Omasong Likely To Win Again

Omasong, from Riccarton, and Central Hight, from Gore, are two of the brighter winning prospects on the programme for the second day of the Dunedin Jockey Club’s autumn meeting at Wingatui today.

Omasong is in the Dominion Handicap and Central Flight will have his only start at the meeting in the Farewell Hack Handicap.

Omasong, one of P. HJones's Riceairton team, easily won the Dunedin Handicap, the race for two-year-oide on the first day of the meeting

on Thursday. Cenrtral FUgbt should show the worth of Rtocarton form when he meets the hack stayers today. This proantainc hack ran Zinder close over a mite and a quarter at the Royal meeting last week. He ta trained at Gore by R. J. Cochrane,

who prepared Panther to win the main race on the first day of the meeting. Panther is engaged again today and should run well in the Wingatui Handicap, but there are some newcomers

capable of putting htin to the teat.

They include Kumai. Windvale Lad, and Beginner’s Luck.

After a conditioning programme of sprinting, Kumai will have hta first middle distance test of the year. He may not be right at his top. but should be close to it and his class could bring him out on top.

Windvale Lad did not get the best of runs in the Queen Elizabeth II Handicap at Rtecarton. Besides, he rune his bet.: races for W. D. Skelton, this combination carrying off the main race on the first day of the Dunedin autumn meeting last yrair Corvale and Cobble look the best of the sprinters in the February Handicap, the second leg of the T-AJB. double.

Cobble is a swift frontrunner and will not be easy to peg back at the end of six furlongs if the ground ta good. Corvale has come into reckoning through his third over seven furlongs at the Royal Riccarton meeting.
