DISTRICT PLAN FOR HALSWELL
Council Approves Preparation
A county planning scheme will be prepared for the Halswell County Council by Davie Lovell-Smith and Partner.
The fee to be charged for the initial work on the plan is £650. This phase may take from 12 to 18 months to compOjet©. Cr.’ F. Wynn-Williams told the council on Thursday night that Miss N. Northcroft, who will have the sole responsibility for the scheme, had said the cost of the work was likely to be about £1250. This total, he said, was made up from the £650 fee and a rough estimate of another £6OO for expenses involved other than the fee. Cr. Wynn-Williams said the scheme would rationalise development in the county.
The chairman (Cr. J. T. Pethig) said the plan would in the long run save the ratepayers’ money.
