The club had stated when the site of the town hall was decided on that it would not stand in the way of a town hail being built on the Victoria square site The council had already acquired . the Limes Hospital site and the completion of negotiations for the two sites now under discussion would mean that the council had acquired the major Sites required. Or. Hay said When the council acquired the property owned by Rex Leathercraft. Ltd, for which negotiations had still to be made, it would have all the land needed between Victoria street and Colombo street, he said.
