Eventide Outings.—Eventide Outings recently took 40 elderly guests to see the floral carpet and set pieces in the Christchurch Botanic Gardens. During afternoon tea, Mrs E. Espiner, who represented the organisation at the Queen’s investiture in Wellington, gave a talk on the ceremony.
Lord Avon Home.—Lord Avon returned to his home in the tiny island of Bequia today after being treated at Bridgetown for a mild heart attack.—Bridgetown, Feb. 19.
Wellington Sponges (with pastry and cream filling) are the “Special” Today, for this week-end, at ETHNE’S CAKE SHOP, 125 Cashel street.
